How to Get Ready for an Appliance Repair Visit

Got a technician coming to fix your appliance? Great! There are a few simple things you can do ahead of time to make the visit faster, smoother, and stress-free.

Here’s how to prepare for your next service appointment with Wisdom Appliance Service:

1. Clear the Area Around the Appliance

Make sure the technician has easy access to the appliance. Move laundry baskets, chairs, garbage bins, or anything else that might block the space. A clear work area helps us get the job done quicker and more safely.

2. Describe the Problem in Detail

Think about:

  • When the issue started

  • What the appliance is (or isn’t) doing

  • Any strange noises, smells, or error codes

The more information we have, the faster we can pinpoint the issue.

Pro tip: Take a photo or short video of the problem if it's not happening consistently. That can be a big help during diagnosis!

3. Have Model Info Ready (If Possible)

Knowing the brand and model number of your appliance helps us bring the right tools and parts. Model numbers are often found on the inside door or back panel.

Don’t worry if you can’t find it—we’ll help track it down if needed.

4. Turn Off the Appliance if It’s Leaking or Smoking

If your appliance is leaking water, producing smoke, or giving off a burning smell, unplug it and turn off the water supply (if applicable). Always put safety first!

5. Plan to Be Home (or Have Someone Available)

We’ll give you a window for your appointment and call before we arrive. Be sure someone 18+ is available to walk us through the issue and approve the work if needed.

Quick Reminder:

Our $89 diagnostic fee goes toward your repair cost if you move forward with the fix. That means no surprises—just honest, mobile service you can count on.

Book your service today and let Wisdom Appliance Service take care of the rest.
